Perspective Of Yet Another Night Owl

Should I Start Blogging Again?

I have been thinking about writing things for my blog again.  I haven’t blogged in such a long time. I am not sure any of the followers that I used to have would even read it now.  That said, I have been writing mini-articles about skin and hair care products that we use and sell at a salon that I currently manage. I figure that the same information may be useful to some of the people that use to read my blog.  So what do you think? Should I begin blogging again?

I can’t believe….

It’s been more than a year since I have written and posted anything here. It seems I fell out of my writing days and moved onto the quick blurb days of Facebook.  Lately though, it seems I hardly even have time for facebook and I think maybe it’s time I took up to the occasional post here again. I have missed checking in on the blog world and trying to catch up tonight has proven more difficult than I anticipated.  So very much has gone on in  the last year that I haven’t read about or posted about. Rather than play too much catch up, I will think about this and try to come up with a 2009 Year in Review for this Night Owl.

Until then, I hope all my blog buddies have been well, had a good year and have started 2010 on a great foot!

Here’s what I have been up to lately…

It’s been a couple of weeks since I quit my job, and believe it or not, I have managed to fill up the 60 hours a week that I had on my hands.  I have managed to get my house in some assemblence of order (although there is still stuff to be done).  I have started some gardening (which was desperately needed), treated myself (hair cut, color, high-lights, mani- and pedicure), had lunch with friends and family, and spent time with the husband.  The husband and I also planted 2 dwarf pear trees in our yard.  Can’t wait for them to bear fruit.

We took a mini camping trip this past weekend which was a lot of fun.  The kids participated in a ton of activities at the camp ground.  My youngest daughter won a scavenger hunt and made a tye-dye t-shirt.  Continue reading

Susan G. Komen National Race For The Cure® on June 7, 2008!!

As you all know, my Mom was diagnosed with Breast Cancer last year.  Since then, I have been trying to find ways to support the fight against breast cancer.   Recently, I accepted the challenge (thanks Mom) to support the fight against breast cancer by participating in Susan G. Komen National Race for the Cure® on June 7, 2008 in Washington, DC.  Mom and I will be walking (definately not running) with the BCL Breast Center of Loudoun team.

Please join me by pledging to support my participation in the Susan G. Komen National Race for the Cure®. The generosity of our donors is vital as we continue our efforts to help breast cancer patients today, as well as to invest in the health of future generations. It is easy to support this great cause. You can make a pledge online by simply clicking on the link to my personal pledge page at the bottom of this post. If you would prefer there is also a downloadable form to send in pledges through the mail. Any contribution amount will make a difference in the lives of many!! I (and my Mom) truly appreciate your generosity and will keep you posted on my progress.

Thank you so much for your time and support in the fight against breast cancer. Best protection is early detection!

Have you ever hated something so much that it hurts? The pain unbearable and nothing, absolutely nothing makes it go away?  Have you ever felt like you just want to rip your heart out and bury it deep beneath the earth, just so that you don’t feel the ache in it anymore?  Have you ever felt so lost because the one person in your life who loved you NO MATTER WHAT, was no longer physically there to hear you when you called?  No longer there to hug you when you needed a huge bear hug??  That is what October 19 does to me.  Continue reading
