I don’t really know where to begin. This page is a tribute to my hero, my daddy, John M. Chartak. (1951-2004 RIP) My dad was a terrific person although I didn’t always show that I knew that. What teenager really does?? He was loving, strict, fun, good spirited, hard working, and always there for me no matter what. So this slide show is kind of an I remember when. There are so many memories that I carry with me, these photos don’t even touch on them. The music embeded in the slide show was not my first choice, so at the bottom of this are the lyrics to the song I would have chosen.
Forgive me if some of the pictures are not in chronological order. It’s late.

Spend all your time waitingFor that second chanceFor a break that would make it okayThere's always one reasonTo feel not good enoughand it's hard at the end of the dayI need some distractionOh beautiful releaseMemory seeps from my veinsLet me be emptyand weightless and maybeI'll find some peace tonightIn the arms of an angelFly away from hereFrom this dark cold hotel roomand the endlessness that you fearYou are pulled from the wreckageOf your silent reverieYou're in the arms of the angelMay you find some comfort thereSo tired of the straight lineand everywhere you turnThere's vultures and thieves at your backand the storm keeps on twistingYou keep on building the lieThat you make up for all that you lackIt don't make no differenceEscaping one last timeIt's easier to believe in this sweet madness ohThis glorious sadness that brings me to my kneesIn the arms of an angelFly away from hereFrom this dark cold hotel roomand the endlessness that you fearYou are pulled from the wreckageOf your silent reverieYou're in the arms of the angelMay you find some comfort thereYou're in the arms of the angelMay you find some comfort here

Comment by Semi~Charmed June 26, 2007 @ 2:20 amSemi-Charmed, before MK I was a Corp Accountant 60/70 hours a week/Salaried, kids being raised by babysitters because I was pursuing My Career, when my dad (my hero) -(he had always been so strong) was diagnosised with leukemia at 57, he lost the battle less than a year later. It was then that I realized how messed up my priorities were and put my goals in place to become a director. Now I do have way more time for what’s important!
(I was the oldest of 4 girls -so I was really like daddy’s boy).
So seeing your tribute really touched me.
Have a Very Special Day, Pink hugs, MK4ME

Comment by msmkpink August 7, 2007 @ 4:51 pmWhat a Tribute to your family.
Msmkpink, thank you very much. I am a big time Daddy’s girl (just in case that wasn’t obvious). One of these days I may get around an “I Remember When” of my kids growing up, but there are so many years pictures to choose from! Those 3 little ones in the last photo will be 15, 12, & 8 in the coming few months.
Comment by Semi~Charmed August 8, 2007 @ 12:05 amWatched this with tears in my eyes. Love and hugs from a random passer-by. Have a great life xxx

I’m totally bummed out that you can’t see the tribute photos anymore. I don’t think I saved this on my computer.
